You are in the heart of historic Old Town Key West, where an eclectic mix of restaurants, art galleries, beaches, bars, museums, and night life are within walking or biking distance. Out the front door is Banana Café, the perfect place to start your day with a delectable breakfast, or drink a healthy smoothie from the Southernmost Smoothie Shop.
Mermaid Cove features four separate units (two cottages and two apartments), each with a private entrance and all decorated and furnished in charming tropical fashion. The units surround a central courtyard with outdoor patio furniture and a large gas BBQ grill. Mermaid Cove allows you to gather as a group, but also have privacy. With accommodations for up to 10 people, it is perfect for extended families, a bunch of friends, or bachelor, bachelorette, and wedding parties.
Mermaid Unit 1 is an upstairs unit with a king bed, full kitchen, bath with shower, and living room with full sofa and a mini-split air conditioner. The living room has a flat-screen Smart TVs and French doors that open onto a deck with table and chairs. It sleeps two people.
Funky Unit 2 is downstairs with a queen bed, bath with shower, mini kitchen with under-the-counter fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, smart TV and a mini-split air conditioner. It sleeps two people.
Ocean Cottage 3 is free standing and has a king bed with French doors that open onto the central courtyard. The bath includes a shower. The kitchen has a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, smart TV, and a mini-split air conditioner. It sleeps two people.
Nautical Cottage 4 is at the rear of the courtyard and features natural cedar walls. At the entrance is a beautiful mosaic tiled 20-foot wall with a one-of-a-kind mural of a Key West beach scene with a Mermaid! This unit features 2 queen beds, bath with shower, kitchen with a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, blender, flat screen smart TV small sitting area/dining table, and a mini-split air conditioner. It sleeps four people.
The courtyard has a large Weber Genesis grill and large outside stainless steel sink that can be used to clean your catch of the day from your fishing excursions.The lights on the patio at night can be casual with the blue rope or blue lamps or you have the ability to turn on a powerful LED light to light up the entire patio.The courtyard also has a Mermaid bottle opener and a weathered bell to get everyone's attention for a special toast or occasion.
Note: Parking in Key West is very limited. This property has no assigned parking and is street parking only. You are responsible for finding parking for your vehicle.
Individual making the reservation must be 25 years or older with proper identification and be an occupant of the property.
The maximum people allowed in this property is 10. If there are more than 10 people are in your party upon arrival, your party will be asked to leave without compensation.
Violation of ANY house rules will result in your party being asked to leave without compensation.

This property is delightful...we enjoyed the space so much...in particular because we are a group of artists that needed a common area to work on our visual journals (patio table is perfect!) and a place to eat and gather upstairs and downstairs.
The ability to walk out of our gate and be right in the middle of the life of Key West was absolutely amazing...it felt like an enclave in the middle of Key West...would absolutely come back in a heartbeat.

Made booking the property very easy. Last minute had to change to a late check in called the office and it was not a problem. From booking to check in and check out great experience.

Had a group of 6 people and the property was perfect. The little courtyard area was perfect for meeting up having a few drinks and making plans for the day. It was nice for everyone to have their own space when needed. Will look into staying at this property again next time I visit Key Wes also will recommend it to anyone who asks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mermaid Cove. The property was configured perfectly for our party of 8. The place is a feast for the eyes with all the interesting decor that gives a vintage beach vibe. The location was awesome, with easy walkability and variety of businesses/bars/ restaurants close by to allow everyone to meet their personal needs/interests. We highly recommend the space.

The Mermaid Cove is my absolute FAVORITE place to stay on the island. I love everything from the nautical decor, accessible location and comfortable beds! Our whole group felt so at home and welcomed from beginning to the end of our stay. The pictures dont do this little hideaway justice, you need to experience it for yourself! It was worth every penny, and I cant wait to stay at the Mermaid Cove again next year!

Adorable spot. Great location!
A few friends in the group arrived early before me and I booked the place. They were allowed to keep their luggage at the rental office while waiting for the place to be ready. They were given the keys without me being there. Very convenient! The rest of us arrived and fell in love with the place. Adorable decorations, great location on quiet south Duval. We rented bike and scooters for the week - which is located across the street and about a half a block away - and had plenty of space to lock them to the railing walking up to our front door. Banana Cafe and the smoothie place are next door and made it very convenient for breakfast in the morning. We did take out some days that we had early excursions booked. The common courtyard in Mermaid Cove was perfect for drinks and socializing before heading out on the town. The separate bungalows made it great for privacy and getting a group ready to go out. Great spot for a group of friends and couples traveling together. Hope to stay here again in the future! Thanks Mermaid Cove for a great vacation!

Great decision!
We were in Key West for the wedding of one of my children. (The newlyweds had their own place.) My other three children, their spouses and children and my husband and I stayed at Mermaid Cove. It worked perfectly for us! The enclosed courtyard was wonderful for little kids as they were essentially "locked in" and we didn't have to constantly corral them. Each family had their own space, yet we could gather as a group when need be! We did have an AC issue the first night, but it was remedied before bed the next night. They are very prompt in taking care of problems. Having a washer and dryer onsite was extremely handy as well. There was a new establishment next door that had installed security lights that did not shut off. I simply called them each night and they turned them off for us. I know the Key West Hideaways property manager was working on the situation when we left. Definitely a wonderful setting for a large group. Location was fantastic! Wedding was wonderful :-) I would definitely consider staying here again!

I traveled with a group of about 8 people. The place is extremely well laid out. There was plenty of room for all of us. The courtyard is a great place to hang out and enjoy the beautiful Key West weather. Its within walking distance to all of the sights and sounds that Duval Street has to offer.

Perfect for us!
Our group included 4 couples with a desire to be together in a common area but with private sleeping accommodations. This eclectic property provided all our needs. It's location on the quieter end of Duval Street was enjoyed by all. We rented bikes and found all of Duval Street accessible. Randy represented the Owner well and the in/out process was painless. The security deposit was returned to us in a timely manner. We recommend this property!
